If you read this blog, or have ever had a single conversation with me, I’m certain you’ve heard me drone on endlessly about my amazing boyfriend. Truly, all I’m doing is practicing to feed his narcissism, this entire post will only fuel his ego. Most of my friends have read a previous post narrating how I reconnected with Liam from High School, but I’ve realized I did not write much about who he truly is. With that said; today is Liam’s birthday, and I have to do everything in my power to make him feel special and loved while simultaneously bragging on Instagram.
To those who don’t know him, Liam is an average 25-year old young man with high energy and big dreams. He graduated from a prestigious college with a fancy degree and now holds a adult job in the Boston area. He has a loving family, a tight-knit group of friends, and an enthusiasm for specific hobbies. But I wish you could all know Liam, because he is so much more than the quick accreditation.
Liam is the happiest human being I have ever met, but not at all in an annoying way. He takes every little moment in life and turns it into a positive experience, refusing to wallow in any negative energy. Not only does Liam find delightful methods in focusing on the good, but he also dedicates himself to cheering up those around him. It is genuinely impossible to be in a foul mood whilst in the company of Liam, his happiness radiates.
Along with maintaining a cheerful aura about himself, Liam is also wildly amusing. His sense of humor comes in handy in almost any situation. Whether it be clever remarks, quick puns, horrible dad jokes, or copied quotes from whatever show he’s currently binging, Liam always knows what to say to make his people laugh. I think he’s hilarious, but I’m slightly biased.
In addition to his wits, Liam is also the most ambitious person I know. He is incredibly intelligent and forcefully driven by his passions. It’s spectacular to witness his eyes light up when he talks about the things he loves. Frequently, I’ll ask trivial questions I know the answer to, just to watch him get excited at the chance to explain his interests.
While Liam stands out as an individual, he also devotes himself wholeheartedly to being part of a community. His sincerity and deep affection towards those he loves cannot go unmentioned. Throughout his years, Liam has nurtured lifelong friendships with people he connects with. He is always the center of every friend group and is adored by all of his friends and family.
Lastly, Liam is utterly fearless. Like most people, Liam is too hard on himself, and often does not take time to recognize his accomplishments. But unlike most people, he has the bravado to do whatever it takes to make his dreams happen. Though not completely lionhearted (he’s afraid of bees), in my opinion Liam is courageous enough to know what he wants and strategize a means of achieving his goals.
He sacrifices sleep to stay up late or wake up early to talk with me. He makes time for me when I know he keeps an insanely busy schedule. He’ll watch any serial killer documentary with me, he’ll listen to my endless, directionless ranting. But most importantly, Liam endures the emotional roller coaster I make him ride daily and doesn’t call me a psychopath in the process. That’s a big win in my book.
I talk about him a lot, I’m not sorry about it. I sincerely wish everyone could have a friend like Liam in their lives. Find someone who brings absolute joy into your life.
Liam, if/when you read this post (it’s when, I’ll be texting you this shortly) I want to thank you for being an enormous positive influence in my life. You make me unbelievably happy and I feel honored to be a part of your life.
My one wish for today is for you to know how fully loved and appreciated you are by everyone who knows you. You are truly a remarkable person.
